Cracked, withered, dust for skin
With all of nothing left within
Sparrows come to pick at flesh
And life-force blood grows less and less
The charred trees filled with bats
And thousands of crows dead by gnats
Corpses reign so jubilant
Over drinking he should prevent
Deserts where the children lay,
Shattered bones all scattered,
And listen to this wind and say
All or nothing, silence in the latter
The ground's dirt forms the lips
The teeming lust for life
And holocausts of triumph
Made by the sword and knife.
Chaos supreme falls before
The towering demon-man
As he sucks right from the ground
The life that used to abound.
And glaring red eyes of ambition
Slowly cry in premonition
Of one day recovery and Master
Masters death-blow to hope.
Chaos will always rule these lands
These pale-faced, dark-ruled hands
Squeezing the oozing life into dust
And forever, men turn to sand, pebbles, and rust.
Author notes
The title was not mocking evolution, it was saying that Earth evolved into this (which IS better).

It is quite sad that this is what earth has become but I fear you are absolutely right here. The poem was wonderful though sad with amazing imagery and flow. Good job!
