V ivid, his love has captured my heart
I grip to my seat as we give life its start
N ever before has someone loved me this way
G od sent me an angel to brighten my day
Y ou give me hope each morning so bright
O ver flowing me with love shiny and light
U ttering soft words with the slightest of ease
I would do anything that you might please
S o now I hope my love is enough
W ondering what did I do to deserve his love?
H oping I will do my dad proud
A nd trying to deal with strength that’s new found
T hinking of how great of a dad you are
G etting tears in my eyes, I never go far
E ven when I screw up and I disobey
T he sadness in your voice puts me on the right way
S ometimes I hope I’m the daughter that you never had
M y heart skips a beat each time I call you Dad
E ach morning I flip open my phone to see
T he words “Good Morning” that you left for me
H ere we stand at the top of this hill
R eady to give and fire at will
O Ur hearts beat as one, as God intended
Uttering words in mid-air suspended
G giving all a daughter can give
H oping my mistakes you can forgive
M y smile is the result of you loving me
Y ou showed me life and joy, made me see
D ying to be with you right now
A lways, there’s so much distance can’t but feel it somehow
Y ou and I have never felt it as much as we do now

Long acrostics can be a challenge, but you managed it nicely! What a very fine tribute to Dad. Leaving home for school can be challenging. Sounds like you've got a good start though. The piece has a nice flow & continuity throughout, but somehow this line stands out for me: 'Uttering words in mid-air suspended'
