all the memories i have of you
are of us growing up
back when we were only kids
inseparable and young
my knight in tiny armor
that's what you were to me
forever there,forever strong
as you promised you would be
when i hurt you did too
or at lest it seemed that way
you wiped my tears,stroked my hair
and kissed my pain away
you held my hand when i was scared
held me in your arms
all the while whispering
everything would be alright
a shooting star you lit my life
and surrounded me with love
through your eyes i came to see
another side of life
in myself you made me believe
that i was someone special
that i could be any one
as long as i was with you
you gave to me a special gift
a love so rare and bright
in all the years and all the time
that we grew apart
it stayed with me
this love inside
and helped to shape my life
what i am,what i'll become
is all because of you
a special boy,a special friend

Author notes
when i was 10 i meet a young boy at the corner shop.....we spent every wakeing moment together for 5 years......he was my friend......my heart and soul.....i found out 7 years ago he died in a car crash the week before his wedding....i never got to give him this poem but i like to think he knew......

Love the writing. The story is sad.
I love you can usually read anothers words and find something in your life that it usually relates to.
I have a *friend*... he was there for me too as we young... many years have gone by and we have our own lifes and things have changed alot. But i still drfit back to those days.
makes a person really think though after reading your comments though......... do i sit back and leave things as they are or do i go to him before it could be tolate.
