Broken Angel

Four forty five in the morning
her world broke into pieces.

He told her that he would always
love her but she knew that she had been replaced.

Where does she now go when she feels
all alone wanting to be held in arms of love.

Bleeding from numerous wounds in her soul
she collapses to the floor to weep.

Fail her in this lifetime you have done
your soul and hers are one in all lives.

He called her beautiful when he looked upon
her picture but now she knows the truth.

Hideous, horrible, ugly, stupid and fat,
this is what she sees as she looks in the mirror.

Broken angel what shall you do now that he has
discarded you, will  you laugh, play or cry?

Wings bent at odd angles as you try to fly from
the pain that resides within.

On her heart just like a tattoo if only she could
live the moments that held her to that reality.

One given momement in time that she could pick would
be their wedding vows the ones that held their souls.

A new direction her life takes these days in her mind
and in her soul as it reaches out for him.

It is her fate she is his in this land of forever
and beyond as they always said.

A dream she had said that this would happen
she would see him saying goodbye.

Lovers once upon a time, what is going to happen
now, friends they have become what a painful awakening.

Lost, alone, terrified, wanting to be held in his
arms, kissed and loved as only he can do.

Come to the place under the sun where her bones rest
in this world waiting for him in the next.
