I walked through a hot Sunday
when the rain poured down
and cooled nothing
but my hope for a cheerful day
It simply oppressed, like a lead weight on a gas pedal
And in the dark of 3:15 P.M.
It rained
Water fell, and the air fell with it
And everything fell down
But I opened my eyes, as I carried my dirty laundry inside
I saw a sprinkler head alone
Shooting cool, clean water into the air
And it spoke to me like no pastor at the Chinese Baptist Church
Like no motivational speaker at school
ever did
Upwards against falling times

Awesome poem obsidianrose843, I truly loved this - I especially love the last line:
"Upwards against falling times"
A great, perhaps not a message as such, but, you know, like, inspiration maybe - telling us to look up even in the darkest of times...
Anyway, marvellous poem once again
good luck in the contest
best wishes as always

I love this. It's so real, in that this could happen to anyone. I love the message here, it's so cute to have hope come from a sprinkler. I really love the way you've written this and described everything. Great write and thanks for entering.
