I once called you friend
With you I shared my deepest dreams
I could cry to you
Hide with you
Be with you...and feel complete
I once felt a lover
Unlike any other
I found a heart accepting of all I do...
In you
I once could've seen us
Nothing coming between us
And all these memories we've shared
I once would've lived for nothing more
Than to hear your sweet voice
Whilst I lie on the floor
I couldn't have imagined
A life without you
For sure a life like that...
Would be unworthy of living...
I couldn't have imagined the betrayal being played
In this role you portrayed...
You were the worst of liars...You were the worst of cons...
Your only prize was your pride...In breaking my heart
I thought for a moment
That you'd felt the same
I dreamed for a minute...
That you could be mine...
Those dreams shattered in seconds
As my tears fell to the floor
This time you weren't there to catch them
This time they would not end for sure.
But in time I came to see
They did end...
How blind I'd been...
I had used you like a crutch...
Thinking of you wayyy to much
I'm turning my back now on this...
And forgetting all these new unhappy memories
Forgetting "Us"

This is about my best friend who turned into my boyfriend who has now decided to forfeit both titles...by cheating on me on the fourth of july (We'd known eachother 6 years and he didn't even have the guts to dump me over the phone...since we live in seperate states...he dumped me through a text message)

This is a good poem.It sucks when you invest so much time into a relationship just to get dumped without knowing it.I have been there.

wow dat suxs... but to be honest long distant relationships are hard... and usually never work out!

Oh, to be dumped by text. I've been there. It makes you think they never even cared at all. You did very well with writing about the pain. This was so sad but very well done.
