Dear Dad

Dear dad,
do you have a moment?
If you're anywhere
above or around,
hear this:
You know my wing
has been clipped,
and if now you fly
then tell me why
I often hurt inside.
Do you? Are you free?
Did your clipped wing
heal, and are you trying
to fly for me?
Mom, doesn't get it.
She has no way to
fly, she looks at
me and sees you,
me as a person she
long denied.
Its ok, because
inside I reach
the peaks, and
soar the highest
mountains, and feel
all the love you
gave. And to

my soul, you helped

to grow wings, and

in my heart, you'll

forever, remain.
