one day i decided to fly-
i wished to soar, not glide
following chance like a fool to a carrot,
blindly striding forward-
unaware of happiness or;
luck
so i dove head first into my regrets
met them chin out in a bold parade
as i ran full force over the edge
and in that second where that triumphant smile reached my lips
a new force knocked me on my knees
and when the panic struck
i swear i saw you
etched out of pain itself
i heard you call so far away and
oh!
how i ached to return to your arms
wished for nothing but your soft lips upon my soul
but at that moment gravity took me.
racing the wind to my death as it captured me all too late
and i fell among the stones
forgotten at the bottom of that great and mighty mountain
and the triumph vanished;
replaced with delusion
hope turned: despair before the eyes of the sun
and with me sank the lines and worries
destined to complete me
forever sewn together in a web of uncertainty
as you stood on the edge
collecting the pieces of life
i threw away
waiting to pick me up while i know
