It's finally here!
This small town's big celebration.
Here comes the parade!
The banner marches out in front,
Followed by many others:
Firemen with their firetrucks,
Marching bands from the local school,
Our nation's flag leading a group of soldiers,
Old fashioned cars: a part of our nation's history,
And random citizens helping lead
In this celebration of our nation.
It's finally dark;
I can hardly wait.
It's time!
The fireworks have begun!
The humongous crashes with
Brilliant flashes made up of
Many beautiful colors
Spread out in dazzling designs.
The day is done,
What a time we had!
Thanks for joining
Our small town celebration.

What memories
took me back to my hometown when I was a child. the parades, the marching bands, the firetrucks, the horses and the old cars. the floats with the queen and her court. so much imagery thanks for the memories oh yeah can't forget the fireworks

how can a town celebration NOT make you happy !? lol a very interesting topic, and a different style.
for me, it was just a bit confusing because everything is together. it jumps from one thing to another. maybe if you made them separate stanzas, it would help the flow more. but then again, it is YOUR style, so that i cannot critique... :] great write lol
thanks for entering and good luck !
