Long since retired,
but avid to add
to my store of gems
of architectural knowledge,
I am denied access
to view the renowned
frescoed ceiling
pictured in the guide-book.
Frustrated not only
by a pair
of closed, solidly built,
hand-carved doors,
but by a set of steps,
over which
I would never be able
to negotiate my wheelchair.
