Better Than Me ^__^

By crimson-river on July 6th 2008, mid-afternoon.
on topic If it were perfect, how would it be?

If it were perfect
it would be happy.

If it were perfect
it wouldn't be alone.

If it were perfect
it would be accepted.

If it were perfect
it wouldn't be bored.

If it were perfect
it would be loved.

If it were perfect
it wouldn't understand.

If it were perfect
it would lend a helping hand.

But, is it not already perfect?
Is it not doing the best it can with what it's got?

I wish I was optimistic enough to say that was true,
but right now it's unfair.

Nothing is perfect.
Perfection isn't honest with itself.
Perfection is what you perceive
when you see success.

Perfection doesn't teach us anything valuable.
It teaches us to be dependent
and to rely on everybody else.

Perfection is an imperfect word.
It's misunderstood.
Then again, perfection has its own meaning
in someone else's mind.

Maybe I'm just too pessimist
to believe that anything better than me,
could ever exist.

Author notes

This is simply about perfectionism. A misunderstood concept, and one that is perceived differently through everyone else's eyes.
The first part of this poem is pretty much stating that I'm not perfect.
The second part states the theory of perfectionism. How we are perfect just the way we are.
The third part of the poem explains the fact that I just want to live in someone else's state of mind, so I could see things differently. Then, maybe it would come to me.
