My dear Lord Jesus I ask you this day
To release the bonds of sin for so many
Lord Jesus let them hear of thy great love
That they too may find their way
Lord Jesus I praise your holy name
You are worthy of all our praise
You are worthy of all the songs we sing
It is you that lights our flame
It is you Oh Lord who died for me
You stretched your arms open wide
They pounded nails within your hands
For all the world to see
Oh how I love those outstretched arms
With your palms pierced with nails
I know that they will hold me tight
And keep me from all harm
So I give you all my thanks dear Lord
My Savior and my God
One day you will come back for me
And in Heaven we both will trod

I love His outstretched arms inviting me into them too. We are all invited into them. Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing.

What a nice thought. It sounds very comforting and child-like, a great poem as well, I loved the forth stanza. You're a great writer. I did notice a few mistakes though, in the 2nd S, 1st L, you should be you're. and some non-capitalized I's.

Thank you Triste elle. Many of my poems sound child-like or so I am told. I think that is because I never grew up. I think I'm the only 74 yr. old child around. I usually catch the small i. I've noticed this on other people's poems. I wonder if it's the fonts here on AP. Thanks again for reading me.. Katie Lazette

I wasn't calling you or the write child-like silly
Just the belief and trust and all that, a certain sweetness about it I suppose.
