Her Husband Waiting To Be

Families assembled, great joy enveloping the room
The bride was beautiful awaiting her groom

Moments creep close, the ceremony was near
The groom was absent.  He should have been here

Slowly a single tear rolls down the beautiful brides face
Perhaps he has changed his mind avoiding this place?

The room was filled with silence as her teardrops began to fall
Suddenly the family received the devastating call

All the guests soon learned that the groom had not changed his mind
His heart was still taken and ready to bind

People noticed an accident on their way to the church
They did not know it was him upon the street’s perch

The groom never made it to this bride’s waiting arm
He was called up to heaven with haste and alarm

Tears filled the room, as the horror became clear
How could this happen to our loved one so dear?

The bride will always grieve for her groom she had loved so much
Tears will always fill her eyes for her groom she can’t touch

But she will find comfort that one day she will see
Her groom standing at heavens alter, her husband waiting to be.
