Was such an honor
to be given this cloak of purple,
with its special sparkling wand.
It made joy radiated in Todberry Elf
beaming with pride,
unable to stop bragging about himself.
Winning the Elf lottery
at Santa's Workshop
gave him every reason to smile
Happy to have the deserved fame
even if it was just for a little while.
Even more thrilled when told
how he would be King
of their January annual celebration
letting the joy ring
with happy merry notes of elation
only an elf can truly sing.
Until finding out
one minor little detail
mention while preparing
for their special enchantment ball
that added by the elf's toymakers union,
being enough news to make him almost bawl
because winner of this honor
he though in glory made him so tall
was made the lavender "shovel" knight
over every reindeer stall,
which he just learned
hadn't been cleaned since last year in the fall.
