But don't you know
I have watered trees
With my sorrow.
I find blessings in the dampened air
Even as I watch rainwater glide
to the edge of every dark green leaf.
Just my luck
That each drop falls upon me
As I pass beneath its branch.
The sun will appear in time
Now that the clouds have gone.
Oh, my friends,
But you don't know
Trees have watered me
With my sorrow.
Author notes
There is an interesting story to how this poem came to me, and I'll put it here:
I was in a very hurt mood one morning... I had been wrongly accused of something I did not do, and I had been yelled at. I was reflecting on how much of my life is filled with people misunderstanding me, and wrongly accusing me. I had shed a few tears, but not my sorrow...
Later in the morning, I took a walk outside. It had rained the night before, and the Beijing air was cool and damp. There was no sun in the sky. I pondered about my sorrows as I walked. As I walked beneath a tree, I felt drops of water fall upon me... these drops had slid off of the branch just as I walked by. It seemed that every tree that I walked under shed its tears upon me, as I walked in that desolate mood... as I returned to my home, I thought about this, and wrote this poem down.

I agree with the comment below... the story of how this poem came to you is great! Weird how things come to you sometimes. Gives a great feeling of nature caring for you eventhough no one else at the time did. And it is always hard to tell someone that it wasnt you and they don't believe you and that hurts more than them having a go at you!
Nice Poem
