A world of shattered glass
Of blood stained cheeks and rags
Of where the air smells of fury
And feels as empty as Satan’s heart.
No sound except for one
Of the sound of slowing breathing
As her heart halts slowly to a stop,
With realisation of no blood.
And with shocking screams
The father slurs his words
As he reaches for his daughters body
But too drunk to feel no heart beat.
The mother’s tears mix with the blood
As she sees her stolen treasure.
She saw her treasure come and go
Why O god why her?
What was the pain she felt so great?
Was it the loss of love?
Or something much deeper
Of which she is forever blind to?
The blade stayed deep with her wrist
As the last drop of blood escapes
And even though she is no more
She smiles with relief.

welcome to allpoetry
Wondefully creative... beautiful and sad all at the same time. I think this is am excellent poem that speaks a powerful message, vividly. An issue that so many have to deal with now... on one side or the other.
Thank you for sharing your words here with us all. I hope you will continue to do so.
