Red roof antiques
purchased pottery
happened upon
the collection
'not for sale'
wooden bust of women
how to describe
all so different
yet sisters and quiet
the same
carved
delicately
detailed
inquired about them
no the dear elderly lady said
my son collects
turns people away
every day
We talked the son
and I
women were carved
felt in my soul
for meditation
for women
hold the wood trace
lines facial features
feel ourselves
our worth
not for men's lust
hearts touched
in understanding
I sit here looking
at the carving
that bears my name.

I love it when art speaks to someone! I found a picture at a garage sale (1800's french court). The artist is heard of, but not easy to find. Then, low and behold, a lady I clean for has the sister picture! But no sale
sigh...
Anyways love the sort of driven, hungry, enchanted feel to this!

I Love it.
I enjoyed it. I used to go with my daughters looking at antiques. most of my poems have some basis in personal experience too. LULU
