Fingertips of light that reach and grasp the sky
the clouds that slip between are falling apart
disintegrating droplets streaking to earth
Highlighted by the darkness all around them
the white that manages to shine through
Creating the silhouettes of uncertain shapes
describing them in the blink of an eye
a glance that captures everything
and keeps it safe, locked within a soul
at least until it's ready to break apart again
An ever-changing image growing stronger
merely by the number of shapes it takes
The rain begins to fall again
taking the clouds with it
each droplet one less spark of thought
The imagination found when lying on your back
hiding your eyes from the sun
and dreaming
Author notes
I haven't written a poem in a while. I was doing so well earlier this year, but somehow slipped out of my zone or something. So anyway, here's a poem.
Please tell me what you think

You're really good at writing about clouds and water. Those are always the prettiest, and my favorites. The end is brilliant:
'The imagination found when lying on your back
hiding your eyes from the sun
and dreaming'
I like it much so.

HA!! Your cousin hasn't gotten to this one yet!!! Anyway,I quite like the last [not line, stanza, idea] thought I guess. Very imagery-tastic.

Now I shall be slightly miffed. What's wrong with me, Karei-Ater? (I'm joking around, in case you couldn't tell) It's just because I haven't been on Allpoetry a lot lately...

Clouds are a powerful, beautiful and amazing aspect of Nature. Their beauty is matchles, and the different shapes of clouds have tremendous impact on our creative capabilities. They bring rain and hope. They also bring lighthning with all its destructive force.
Your poem is thought-provoking and shows the fertility of your potent imagination.
