In a world where everything falls apart
And people die every day,
Miracles do occur here on earth,
And I found mine in you that day.
When your lips first pressed to mine,
I knew it in my heart,
But I'm human, and I got scared,
And ran away right near the start.
But what matters deep down,
In my heart and soul,
Is that I came back to you,
And by doing so, I made my heart whole.
I believe we were given pairs of limbs for a reason,
And yet, we only have a single heart,
Why would that be?
Really, it's a work of art.
Two eyes, two hands, two arms.
Two legs, two ears, two feet.
Why were we given only one heart?
So when we find the other one in someone else, we're complete.
And on that day, my heart found yours,
And oh, the angels sang a joyous song.
Because that was the day, I realized,
In your arms is right where I belong.
