Into the Night

We abscond deep into the night
under the gaze of a desirous moon.
We will frolic in love till morning’s light.

Touching those parts that we delight.
Hoping the morning will not come too soon.
We abscond deep into the night.

The moon gives me the gift of your sight
as your curves drive me as mad as a loon.
We will frolic in love till morning’s light.

We will kiss and hug, nibble and bight.
Our desirous moans will become a tune.
We abscond deep into the night.

We know it is lust that has taken flight.
I stumble in eagerness, like a buffoon.
We will frolic in love till morning’s light.

Everything we do wrong will suddenly feel right
as the open air has become our bedroom.
We abscond deep into the night.
We will frolic in love till morning’s light.

    nice

nicely penned for the prompt . . liked "under the gaze of a desirous moon" and "We will frolic in love till morning's light" . . good luck in the contest . .

  • A hit.

The Dionysian nature of your poem is unusual. The villanelle is usually reserved for harping or carping, given its repetitiveness. Since the act of coitus is also repetitive, form and function unite in a happy marriage in this lust poem. Love the use of bight, a word to conger with. Good use of title, a phrase often proceeded by "Let us flee"suggests hidding  as well as does abscound hint at something stolen and hidden.
