The darkness that overpowers the night,
Shrouds me gently with cold arms.
Arctic needles shine on the rising light,
And in my mind these past events dance.
The night is ending and a gentle smile,
Dares linger momentarily on my face.
The coldest, darkest moment, is before
Daybreak. I repeat once, and then again.
But daybreak came, and nothing changed.
I imagined a clear sky and a gentle breeze,
But, then again, life is never so simple.
My wish came, devastating beyond repair.
The clear sky, so overpowering with heat,
Made the only humidity to be seen, be that
Which fell from my stricken face. This
Suffocating heat fiercely crunched my heart.
The gentle breeze, for which I yearned,
Came so furiously and viciously it torn
Apart all that crossed its deadly path.
There lay I, in the center of such chaos.
A sorrowful globule descended downwards,
Its cold despair caressed my afflicted skin,
A cold touch of realization upon my heart,
Awakened a dormant body.
I was electrified, this power surged, evolved,
From my heart it spread, reached onwards,
Yearned for more, hoped to exist, and dared
To dream. I was free… free to live.
I felt it, the power and desire to rise.
It was the hunger, the need to strike back.
The smile returned, and there it stood
Impervious to the existing chaos, it remained.
I stood; I remained, smiling determinately,
As the gale tried to do its worse, it failed.
As my presence could not be diminished,
I laughed triumphantly! And within I knew…

I always write with music. To this poem I suggest Venus in the Morning, by Stratovarious. Since I wrote it to it. And I don't know its a good song. Very inspirational. There is also Awaken the Giant by Stratovarious.
