foam-born force of mystery,
and spirit yields
firm ground beneath
for the dream of seven strings
...Between sky and earth,
a chanson birthed by Venus
and nursed by moon
beguiles the virid muse,
adding blues
...Amphibious, to drift
in adore's conscious stream
as inner fire to
watercolor canvas,
a lamp onto ochre eyes
...Opens Anima's keep,
shedding light into
oceans wide and deep
...Hear the lyre,
conceived of channeled seas
these siren tides
that glide souls to grace.
Author notes
Circe was a legendary enchantress in Greek mythology.
Her powers of enchantment were notorious in both myth and literature.
One of her most memorable appearances is in the Odyssey of Homer,
where she detains the hero Odysseus on her island.
*virid: green
**lyre: A seven-stringed instrument of the harp family,
used to accompany a singer or reciter of poetry
***anima: The feminine inner personality

oh, the colors here bring so much and the blend of legends the powerful myths of supernatural strength, heroic[sheroic] purposes, so very appealing assonant, internally rhymed ..mellifluous...Thank you for this fine entry into the contest and best of luck in the judging...PK

Lane, thank-you for all your sweet enthusiasm!
Pam has a great love of the sea as I do...
and myths are something I treasure. Glad to

Talented verse
Your vocabulary is beyond the pale and illustrates poetic thought process very well. I'd have to do some serious boning up on mythology to rise to a horizontal level beside you too. Thank goodness you always include
explanations in your authors comments! Beautiful verse Blue. I'm sure Pam loves this too.

I like the flow of this very fluid theme. The principal subject relates so intimately with the secondary elements very artfully. An intriguing write for sure Blue.

My Friend
Thank you for such a stunner. Always so rich with your use of language and flow. I loved this gracious verse.
Hear the lyre, conceived of channeled seas, these siren tides that glide souls to grace.
You know my love for the sea . . . Thank you.

Each part of this humble verse is meant to speak of you.
The moon which rules you, the anima that shines from
within with such clarity,
the green hues that compliment the blue,
the lyre which you play for all to enjoy...
I have been blessed by your inspiration and beauty.
