This poem is simply
for the red, white, and blue.
For those who defend it,
and all that they do.
Up above in the air,
or down below in the sand.
Conquering the enemies
to protect our great land.
Whatever it takes,
weeks, months, or years,
Constantly, they are out there
to ease every fear.
This one's for all their families,
and the milestones they may miss.
For their children still waiting
for a promised goodnight kiss.
Loving sisters, big brothers,
worried moms, and quiet dads.
Are missing their loved one
so we can have what we have.
To all the soldiers that are out
there enduring our wars,
Too many miles come between them,
and their homeland and shores.
Holidays aren't the same,
without family or old friends.
Duty calls and they answer,
For this I commend.
Defending us with honor,
and unparalleled pride
Risking their lives,
while casting all fear aside.
Air force, navy, army,
Can't forget our marines-
Thank you for being the braves ones.
To stand up and intervene.
Realizing that life
just isn't meant to be fair.
We keep you in our thoughts,
and foremost in our prayers.
We stand behind, united,
when even one of you falls.
Saddened that anyone
had to sacfrice it all.
They are out there,
fighting, alone, and tired.
Carefully dodging
bullets that everybody fired.
First ones on the front lines,
if we're ever under attack.
Lord, please have mercy,
and safely bring them back.
Across the world, all my love
I graciously send.
To the military, I support you,
and my blessings I extend...
