Live

Crumbling walls that stink of smoke,
Concrete floors that reek of beer,
Anxiousness and darkness flood,
What we're waiting for is near.

Screaming, yelling, drinking,
They keep on filing in.
Each person quite unique,
For this one night we are kin.

.........................

me: I wish you were here with me
him: ..why?
me: so you could see me happy just for once
him: please don't act like this, we're just friends
me: ..believe me i know.. i just thought you could.. never mind
him: what?
me: just be nice for once
him: well ... i hope you have fun
me: okay. . .
..............................

I sway with the crowd,
Losing all inhibition.
The local band's not bad,
But they aren't quite my sad remission.

What's it gonna take,
To finally pull me through?
All he does is beat me down,
I'm turning black and blue.

I hold it back and move,
Move in unison with the crowd,
I'm close as someone my size can get,
It's sweaty, amazing, brilliant, loud.

And we all wait patiently,
The lights are sustained now.
But my head is buzzing with happiness,
Sadness, Emptiness, and i don't know how.

The joy swelled in my lungs and feet,
My voice and my hands too,
I let go of a lot of lies that night,
held onto what is true.

The moment "Sorrow" played,
The moments of resentment,
They crashed in like "Ocean Waves",
They overflowed out of contentment.

.....................................
him: ily
me: what?!
him: jk
him: well in a friends way only
me: oh yeah... well i love you too
.....................................

The tears ran down uncontrolled,
My chest cavity vibrates with the bass,
And they don't stop, not for a second,
Each salty tear stains my face.

My hands were open to my God,
Begging for the help i needed,
The closeness of bodies crying out,
We are not, and we refuse to be dead.

The sweat, beer, and smoke,
It's worth the love.
It was better than i expected,
And i will never let go of.

They were non stop prayers,
Inside my non stop tears.
They killed all my darkness,
They killed all my fears.

~~~~~~~~~~~FLYLEAF CONCERT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Author notes
I picked option #5. Basically, the stuff between me and the guy are texts between me and my ex best friend who at the time i still had a rocky relationship with. . . Seeing Flyleaf live i thought i'd just chill and have fun for one night but i ended up bawling the entire time, partially out of utter happiness, and partially because i knew how far i had fallen in my faith and Flyleaf was God's way of putting me back on my feet. It was the most amazing night of my entire life... Now my faith is stronger than ever, and the guy i talked about and i are slowly building our friendship back up.
    VERY GOOD
    Like a toddler we walk through our life, sometime tumbling, sometime falling. Blessed are those who at last can stand on their feet erect getting back the faith without fumbling. Enjoyed greatly.
    Beautifully awesome :)
    Kenz, this is great! i love this poem! i'm glad you and him are getting your "relationship" back. i'm so happy you got your faith back and that's it stronger than ever! You have a wonderful gift of poetry writing. This poem shows your emotions and how you feel about him.
    Don't forget (and I really want you to) to call me when you need me. Even if your crying your eyes out, call me! please. you don't have to say anything, just let it out on the phone. and whenever you need me to come over, call me. or you can over to my house. either way i'm here for you.
    wow... i digressed a bit!
    anyway once again this poem is awesome! one of your best.
    Aww
    Hunni, i'm ever so glad to hear that you've got your faith back. I mean, i'm not a christian, though, i feel that everyone has their own path in life. I can see so much that God is where you belong, He makes you happy and complete. I also understand. Though again, that's not who i am. I've seen Flyleaf live twice and i've got to say, they definitly send those feelings through you. The feeling that there is a higher power and in the end, it will all be alright.
    You've got an absolutley amazing piece here. I mean, the mixture of emotions, and the different things you learn..from this.
    I mean, of course the outlook of the concert, amazing. Not to mention the added bonus of things going on outside of it, and yet the combine, beautifully.
    "I sway with the crowd,
    Losing all inhibition.
    The local band's not bad,
    But they aren't quite my sad remission." Beautiful.
    Thank you for your entry and good luck.
