Shadow

They laugh at me and poke fun
Pretty soon it'll all be done

If only they knew the plans in my head
They would never have told me what they said

They would say they did not mean what they did
Never underestimate the quiet kid

They will say they're sorry, without a doubt
But it's too late now, their time has run out

I laugh and smile at their dismay
Oh, such a victorious day

They shout and scream, through their pain
I take my leave, as it starts to rain

Soon they'll realize that no one will hear their call
Except for me, just a shadow on the wall

Author notes

At the 4th of July party, I met this gut everyone called "Shadow". This is kind of the impression I got from him. Everyone was making fun of him, and I felt kin of bad for him. He seemed like the kind of person that could just snap in an instant.

Be honest, is this poem any good?

  • thats an awesome poem. 'shadow'. he sounds pretty cool. maybe one day he will snap. but maybe it is better that he didn't. he must have good self control. although i'm in with your poem. if anyone was teasing me i would do the same. good work.

Wow! That was really good! You left out a space between through and their, but otherwise really good! You're rhyming was great!
