Thank You

Thanks to the men and women
Who fight for all we own
I hope you know we pray for you
And you are not alone.

You've given up your freedom
So we don't have to fear
I hope some day all wars are done
So you can all stay here.

No matter what we say or do
We can't repay the price
Of every soldier who has died
and given up his life.

You fight no matter what
And obey every command
To protect what we hold dear:
Our freedom in this land.

The Air Force pilots who take their planes
Through rolls and dives and flips
All the Marines who never stop
Defending all their ships.

The Army soldiers who always fight
Defending what we love
The National Gaurd protecting us
On the ground and high above.

The Navy soldiers who always fight
Offshore out in the sea
The Coast Guard who protect our shores
To save both you and me.

To all the soldiers who give their lives
To protect so many others
To families who lost their kids,
Their fathers, or their mothers.

The men and women who never stop
Fighting the valient fight
Hope to bring an eternal day
By fighting against the night.

So here's to all the soldiers
Who are strong and brave and grand
We give you all our heartfelt thanks
For protecting our free land.

    This is definitely an ode to our military. I love that you included each branch, not just the army, like a lot of people seem to.
    I love the rhyme [which is not something I say often] & I feel this is an excellent dedication to our men & women. Thanks for sharing!

    Oh wow I am in tears reading this as this is just a beautiful poignant tribute to all the soldiers who sacrifice their lives for our freedom,I love it and I think this should be billed on billboards for people to take notice and I think the soldiers should get more recognition,Regards,Hazel

    That was probably one of the best poems I've ever read. You are so talented with rhyming and making the words flow effortlessly. That was a truly wonderful poem as the heroes of this nation don't get nearly enough recognition for what they do. I like to see poems about things that really matter and that are close to the hearts of everyone who reads it. Great job and keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
