Washed Away

My love drew a line in the sand

And I was to stay on my side,

Enjoying the beautiful beach

While watching the ebb of the tide.

A silent agreement was made.

My love drew a line in the sand.

Then spent many hours with me,

To stroll on the beach hand in hand.

The sea in its wisdom reached out

Erasing all trace of the line.

My love drew a line in the sand,

Assumed the transgression was mine.

My love feels betrayal from me,

So now it’s my fate to be banned.

I watch as she’s walking away

My love drew a line in the sand

A truly beautiful poem. I tried a quatern once, but couldn't really make it work very well; however, yours works wonderfully.

This is really an enjoyable read. The refrain line is so very descriptive and the emotion simply oozes with passion. I love a well written Quatern is this is a masterpiece. I also love the format as you have actually divided the poem by the graphic with the left and right justification. Bravo!

    Love,

  • This is just amazing... seems we all tend to draw a line whether it be in the sand or with a heavy black marker. Even the black marker can be erased occassionally.
