Not only should we be morally obliged
to all Americans who served and gave their lives,
we also owe deep thanks to our allies
who have also sacrificed so much for freedom.
In World War I and II, fighting aggression
murder, ethnic cleansing and genocide,
allies suffered more than 70,000,000 deaths,
the cost of terror run rampart on a world level.
How can anyone justify knocking America.
Just how much water do we have to hold
before we stand behind this great country?
We are a far cry better than the opposition.
Sure we all have the right to our opinion
Freedom of speech, the right to be heard
stand for right over things we see wrong
that is part of what makes this country free.
I am not saying that America does not error
have dishonest or corrupt administrations
questionable or shady leaders at times,
or we do not ever have cause to be displeased.
What I am saying is the foundation of America
what it stands for and its principles foundation
is bigger than any leader, era or administration.
4th of July celebrates that spirit sacrificed soul.
Our country is like the dog, mans best friend
problems, corruption are fleas on the loyal dog
you do not blame, beat or shoot the dog down
because of a few fleas! Get a flea collar,
take better damn care of the damn dog.!
We the people have persevered depressions
growing pains, wars, population, civil strife
economic, social and global affair problems
overcome and survived many types of adversities.
Consider this countries accomplishments
science, education, medical advances
landed on the moon, reached into space
saw levels of prosperity, never dreamed of.
I hear allot of people make derogatory remarks
talking about how America is going down
complaining, criticizing, saying America sucks
losing faith and respect and saying we are so bad.
Let me tell you it's time we take offense to that
The red, white and blue is good over evil
right over wrong, we believe in human rights
we are humanitarians, we live in the land of the free
This was our fathers land and their fathers, fathers
before them. A lot of brave men died for this land!
When we forget who we are, where we came from
the price we have paid for freedom. and for what we stand,
When we forget to be thankful, and we beat the dog;
then that is when we will be near the end.
Only we can make it better or worse.

You had a lot to say and you said it well--I totally agree with your sentiments---People are often so forgetful of the sacrifices made by our forefathers, as well as our military personel today, to win and protect the freedoms we enjoy.
The disgruntled should have the opportunity to travel to some other countries for lengthy stays and experience some of the hardships they face and
freedoms that they don't have the pleasure of enjoying--I'm sure some disgruntled and complaining eyes would be opened to appreciate our Blessing to call America our Home!

Great write brother...Very patriotic, and good common sense shared here! I appreciate your patriotic stand as a veteran..Also I liked your analogy about the dog/ We do not get rid of him just because he has fleas..As one politician up here retorted to another "We have heard what you are against" "Now tell what you are for?"That just about says it, only in your words that is telling those who would run down their country to stop criticizing and start helping the situation....Bravo for this write!
