Winter Nights (Haiku)
crashing down today
winter nights and fading dreams
holding on to hope
So many Questions (Sophomoric Lament)
Little boy blue where has your journey led,
was it worth every scar, every time you silently bled.
What is this dream, swirling in your head?
Did you waste your efforts, spending every last kiss,
for worldly gains only to find a much deeper pain?
- so tell me my friend, do you ever really miss,
the innocence lost while you strayed so far away -
ignorance sometimes sickening, ever filled with eternal bliss ...
"so tell me mirror - wretched mirror on the wall
why so many questions, you know I'll never fall ..."
... again
To my love Unknown (Haiku)
renewed vows of old
I wander in search of her
seeking only peace
crashing down today
winter nights and fading dreams
holding on to hope

Author notes
The original looked so much better in rich text. I may actually have to sign up for an account again. This was deeply personal at the time of the writing. Hopefully the latest representation is one that stems from looking back, instead of current - offering the same emotion but a tad bit more maturity.
Slightly revised ... original post 05-2005

Ah ...
you did not lose your poetic touch, Brian, and rich text or not, the content stayed rich in its contemplation.
I loved how the entrance and exit were stressed by process ... two very beautiful senryu!
Is there anything better to search, than peace?

Blessed be, Poet.
