Ghostly Caresses of a Past Life

In the silence of solemn moments
his caress comes to chill my flesh
as his spirit seeks for me to hear
Tormenting the essence of my soul
pain clenching my heart, bringing tears
releasing the loneliness of this life
As the curtains billow like sails in the wind
I gaze upon a ghostly silhouette near the door
knowing his coming is a universal sign
I remember our love, pure and untainted
it spans universal tides like a pirate now
turning it's blade into my devastated heart
As I yearn for the great love we once shared
I beg upon sorrow's whispers for him to leave
praying to extinguish the memories of us
Perhaps he beckons me beyond this world
to ease the breaking of my heart and join him
in a realm only seen through enlightened eyes
For he knows, as I have known many years
my path here shall take me many places
but another love to claim me, I shall never find
