Hindsight Never Lies
Written July 7th, 2007
Las Vegas reigns in youth.
Sexual prowess a safe seduction
empowering false hopes
when time seems eternal
Post graduation insecurities
chase lost puppy love with
extremities of whiskey sour
being the courage of choice
Until social etiquette demands
menial transgressions unite
un-welcomed reality checks
thrusting forefront, survival
Unnecessary drama dissipates
self awareness seeks serenity
and the soul longs a companion
to breach solitary contempt
Staring through pheromone veils
we choose from the cesspool
gorgeous bodies of shallow form
leaving gilded spirits unknown
Evolution surpasses life’s disdain
elderly memoirs haunt to fade
wondering, were we truly loved
heart pains reveal a gilded face
