Life Spark
Written May 30th, 2005
From darkened hallways, ivory beckons.
Pristine doorways, defying the gloom of life
Though shaken, I step with ease,
from threshold, to threshold, hovering.
Awaiting a sign, from the crossroads,
to speak to me of pathways and dangers
Hope eludes me for moments,
each door seemingly the same as the next.
The shrouded hands of waifs, reaching,
striving to pull me into their abyss.
Closing my eyes, I seek divine intervention
in answer, it comes...
Smooth, pale golden light, skimming my aura,
tapping as though it were a hand, cleansing me.
Willing me to look above the glowing doorways.
erasing my anxiety with serenity's waves.
Until softly, it opens my eyes in revelation,
as an ankh of ivory, slowly turns.
Blindly, in faith, I walk through the doorway.
The ankh appearing, in a spark against my throat,
surging with energies, as it quickens my soul.
Here in the creamy ivory clouds, of a narrow corridor,
I travel, no longer in fear, but with purpose
into the brilliance of another life, reborn
