Sweet sister wont you sing
the song you left inside my soul
on a grassy knoll in Tennessee
where free, we used to roam
High atop the mountain
where the canyon meets the creek
near the shack they say is haunted
and the fireflies run deep
Skirts whirling in the moonlight
moonshine heavy on our breath
we danced around the camp fire
and told stories until we slept
I search for you now as I stare
upon the heavens in the sky
and will my soul to reach for you
as the tears fall from my eyes
You left me stranded in a memory
I can't clear from my head
echoing like church bells
carried upon the raging winds
I never got to tell you
the truest secret in my heart
I always wished to be like you
upon every falling star
Sweet sister wont you sing
the song you left inside my soul
into my ear, so I know I'm safe
upon my lonely journey home

This was so loving, and loyal - you captured the relationship between you both so capably, very impressive!
"You left me stranded in a memory
I can't clear from my head
echoing like church bells
carried upon the raging winds"
That verse was so ... magical! I'm not sure why, it's the way you chose the words and pieced them together and they just make perfect sense - fantastic!

This poem is sadly beautiful. You have written of the unique bond that sisters share, and the longing to have them beside you again. The imagery is amazing and honest. A beautiful write. Blessings, Patty
