A Moment of Clarity

Life began when

he felt death as close as

a lover’s breath,

when self-doubt

fell heavy like the first

monsoon rain,

and the pain stirred

his spirit

like a hurricane

without the calm eye.

Author notes

a huricane without the calm eye....*shivers* I find that I am bothered by those words because of the days where what I long for more than anything else is rest..and if I'm caught in that hurricane then there will be no rest...even so, I enjoyed the imagery and the journey of this poem
