Pausing in a Moment’s Dream
Written September 27, 2004
On the eve of morrows waking glance
stumbling into infinity I see
chaste ladies dancing fancy
upon a mid-summer night's dream
Gowns flowing in the wind
as though they were angel's wings
caressing the air in which they're spun
the purest of lovers in heavenly streams
What enchantments they weave
upon the sorrow of a lonely heart
whispering songs from smiling lips
as the rest of the world comes undone
Tainted by the lies of life
I long to touch their innocence once more
reminiscing of times of blissful youth
and the fine gown of splendor, I never wore
On dragon's wings, I've always gone to fly
chasing moon beams across a starlit sky
enjoying the touch of lovers, come and gone
left alone in the aftermath of broken hearted songs
I wish not to turn back the clock
Though I dream of the ladies, fair and sweet
their love and dancing in the mundane world
has never been enough to set me free
