Jennie-Jue ( A Tribute)

Daddy called me Jennie-Jue,
was always saying "I love you."
Yet never did I hear it said,
but he clothed me, kept me fed.

For birthdays, etc...he gave me much
toys to jewelry... his tender touch...
on my shoulder when I was feeling bad,
or a gentle smile if i was down or sad.

Working two jobs was all he did
cause every year, mom had a new kid.
Complain? Heck no, "I'm a family Man!"
(Even with a broken back I know can)

He was a paraplegic, from age 19
life had treated him pretty mean.
A diamond in the rough at first,
smoothed by love, bitterness reversed.

Mama played the most important part,
she warmed daddy's frozen, broken heart.
So this tribute is really for them both,
I wouldn't be here today without their troth!

I'll be the first in line to declare how fortunate I was to have two loving parents who were devoted to their families. I owe my very existance to them and to a large degree what I am and have become. Good luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long
