Stretching
Written April 9, 2005
Time caresses our wounds
pouring salt into the mix
of our blood and tears
weaving opaque claws
through portals of the mind
until we instill the desire
to break the chains
Freed, we reach out
past the shards of confusion
beyond self suffocation
shattering boisterous shadows
and misery's stalemate
into the light of ourselves
we fear the most
Rising upon divine euphoria
beyond the azure mist
where our feet never touch
the heated pavement
of that which was scorched
we soar, dancing to a tune
alive and all our own
