Landscape

Connected by a feeling to another place
Deep within our minds are landscapes that are safe
Protected by a distance free of any signs
The only ones that see us are the ones we want to find

A sanctuary dressed in all we need to see
With tunnels of our wisdom running underneath
A sky that only changes in tune with how we feel
No matter where we go there’s nothing that’s not real

Imagination growing inside our inner eye
Reflecting on the surface of things that make us smile
Trepidation leaving as we explore the caves
The dark is all around us but our sanctuary’s safe

A cavern decorated with bodies of the lost
We want to run away but we can’t afford the cost
Further into darkness we finally find our way
The tunnels underground are shortcuts to the day

Connecting every mountain to lakes that hold our needs
We find the ones that made it and know them underneath
Protecting every person that wants to find the truth
We’re painting our landscape with signs that give them proof
