Oh there you are, I've looked for you
all around the house,
I've been off chewing on a shoe
and then I found a mouse!
You're so high up it hurts my neck
just to see your face,
I have to say you look a wreck
with hair quite out of place.
Come closer please, I need to check
what you really are,
right I'm straining my poor neck
it's hard for me to see that far.
There's something odd about you
and I'm really not too sure,
I need to get a closer view
as you seem to have four paws.
You bark as well, I start to cringe
of that sound I'm not too fond,
I feel my whiskers start to singe
to such danger they respond.
And then you sit beside me
as I start to feel all warm,
be nice to me that is my plea
as this new friendship is being formed.

very well expressed, I was with you all the way through and could picture the cat and dog together too, well done

Cute. The line about taking tea seems a little forced. Doesn't really have any relevance but to rhyme. Of course you could argue that "having tea" is about being friends, but you have to admit that if you weren't using rhyme, you wouldn't have put it in that way. I'm sure you can come up wtih something more natural.
Otherwise, very cute. At first I thought the kitty might be looking up at a human, but I like that it turned out to be a dog. Sweet poem. Thanks for entering.
