My words will never touch you,
no matter of reasoning could reach far enough
to even graze the contours of heart -
one that I once belonged inside;
Never was a promise,
that you couldn't afford to keep.
I begged, screaming my devotion
below your starry skies,
hoping only for the chance of that one wish -
for it was only you I wished for.
Memory still haunts my every breath,
of the you and I that once was
the laughter, the tears..
the love we shared when hearts were as one;
My dreams rested in your eyes
desiring no other home for sight to serve -
my affection was unconditional, and without reservation,
..forever was my promise.
Now I stand, outside your universe
desperatly hoping I could've fit back in
yet knowing someone else now cradled those constellations;
though I never saw the battle, she had already won,
long before I even felt the emptiness
of goodbye's fated kiss.

Stunning write! So sad.. I have certainly felt these emotions before..

-
wow... this kinda makes me sad...
it is very hurtful when someone you are close to
does something to make you feel alone.
and eventually, you get really good at hiding that pain. the only thing i can honestly say,
is that hope is not lost forever...
this is a great write.
if it's based on something real,
then i'm sorry, and keep your chin up...
if not, then i hope you never feel this...
