with native animals and plants
you won't want to leave.

Land we have so much of
you can see for miles and miles
tourists that see our country
are always left with smiles.

Aussies will call you mate
mates we make real quick
an Aussie barbie on the weekend
and the footy to have a kick.

A country that is filled with races
even some who fled from war
for this country Is the place to live
with so many states to explore.

So If you plan a trip overseas
with a loved one or on your own
be sure to come to Australia
a country that Is well known.

    I tried so very hard to get my hubby to immigrate to Australia way back in the late 50's...a half century ago it was..Geez, where has the time gone...any way, when I read about your country I know why I wanted to go there...Good job and good luck in the contest...

    This is a very inviting poem, Andy. I always wanted to visit Australia and this poem reinforces that desire. So many people, so many countries, all with interesting and diverse cultures and attributes. I always appreciate when anyone, from whatever country they're from, are proud to speak up, be thankful and hopeful for their country.

    PS. I had two brothers that aerved during world war two in your country they often talked about it.
