Wasteland

Missing image
Destruction sears
desert's barren skin,
blemished beauty.

Civilization scattered,
thrown to Sahara's breath;

Famine feeding devastation,
August is insatiable.

strongholds fall to ruin,
as we wage war upon each other.

    Absolutely fantastic, and I mean it.
    Love the verbs 'seared', 'scattered' and 'wage.

    "desert's barren skin"
    Wonderful.

    That second stanza is the kind of poetry I aspire to write like...awesome.

    The whole thing is powerful and well wrought-out. Nicely done, and good luck (but I don't expect you'll need it)
