stare

we walked to the pond
where you loved to throw skipping stones
and watched your brothers do back flips
into the calm waters
where ripples were abundant
and smiles lasted for hours
I told myself to never stare that way
that I sometimes do
into those black holes of greens and blues
even if they are only eyes
but they seem to have a mind of their own
because they see me starring
and they can't help but shine...

Please tell me what you think

I liked your quotes so much - good pickin'!. Liked this poem, too. Here's one I like: The distinction between "negligence" and "gross negligence" roughly equates to the difference between a fool and a damn fool.
