Baseball dreams

There is a small stadium
I go to
Where popcorn

Hot dogs
And over priced soda pop
Hot summer days

And the feel of old time baseball
Casey came to bat
He swung at a wild pitch and struck out

Yet the home team fans still cheered
For mighty Casey will crush the ball
Next time at plate

Hope everlasting, and the reason Casey's become beloved is because at some point in their lives they were successful, they did hit the home run to win the game, not strike out. But with most things, they can't always succeed, even the best fail sometimes.

This sounds like fun and a good way to spend a few hours fresh air, time spent with friends. You carry me along with you my friend. You know me Jon still think the two 'And' at the beginning of the lines could be removed and take nothing from the meaning just tighten it up. I am smiling. What I really like about this poem is the positive attitude in the last stanza. So many times sportspeople are given a real hard time for trying to do their best. As fans we should support their efforts and appreciate them for their worth...our entertainment, a brilliant way to enjoy summer.
