“Perhaps… you can understand what lies beneath.
Something to relish, something to hate, something
Impalpable, and in the end it is something indifferent
To what you think, is right.
To understand instead of understood,
To understand to not be understood,
To understand for not being understood.
Your surprise is captivating, but I must voice,
That this is not something you want, or choose,
It just comes, whether it’s right? Who knows?
Whether I care? Sometimes I doubt, but then
Again there is nothing you can truly do about it.
You just are, the same way you are a human,
The same way you accept your nationality,
You learn to accept this abnormality.”
Gracefully, she sidesteps to my left,
As her billowing honey hair leaves a
Scented trail behind her. Her piercing
Green eyes glare at me, and I see within
The complex nature of her heart.
Her long and sinuous arms create
Hovering images of light as her
Aura is impregnated in the air.
Those, eyes, such earth hidden beneath,
What lies underneath? My heart skips a beat.
“To see me, as you have requested so
diligently, you must first observe my aura,
if you can truly differ what is to be shown,
if you can truly see beyond, then, without a moments
hesitation I’ll show myself to you. Consider
yourself talented and fortunate. Now observer…
tell me what you see.”
As I squinted my eyes, and tried to focus
On the contour of her head and shoulders,
I saw the silver blank outline glow before me.
It was something mighty to behold, such
A curse to carry above your shoulders,
Such a heavy burden of a life. But then again
Such power, power and might to see beyond.
Makes you wonder if it is worth it.
Green, primarily green, a nature's green.
So earthly and motherly, so much goodness,
So much care, too much love. And glittering
Around it yellow, streaks of sunshine on a mossy meadow.
Earth and sky before my eyes
But such an abstract image, was the overlay
To what lay beneath. A white, a white so deep,
A white so pure and blinding, but it was hidden.
And embedded on the ivory surface lay intricate
Designs of ivy green, it climbed from her feet,
Rooting her to a destiny, an inescapable fate
Of miscomprehension.
My voice sounded mousy and feeble,
But the words where uttered determinately.
Her countenance shifted as a rapid
Phenomena, surprise, the fear, the relished
Comprehension.
“Dear me, my boy, you are an observer.
Now, let us see how much can you truly observe.”
With astounding gait and poise, she jumped
To the counter behind her. Her eyes turned
Emerald as her pupils dilated into vertical slashes.
With a curved motion of her shoulders, her
Arms came to be below her as rigid limbs.
As her skin became deadly ivory and the color
Drained from her face, her hair grew and became
White as winter snow. It began to coil and uncoil,
Around her animalistic body, until it covered every
Surface of her ivory skin. With one swift arched back
The hair became fur around her feline body.
She was long, long, tall, muscular and breathtakingly
Beautiful, enough to fret the bravest men. As she
Moved, her head reached my upper thigh, and her
Throat reverberated with a deep grateful purr at the
Knowledge that I had remained.
Then as the image began to become less frightful,
A smile crawled on her lips, and the wind began
To pressure forcibly unto the window.
With the sound of shattering glass came the rustling
Rush of leaves. In a chaotic powerful vortex
They surrounded her and elevated her upwards,
Until she floated on the air. Quite suddenly
The leaves became impregnated unto her,
And she gyrated until she became an indistinct
Blur.
I could only perceive whiteness,
And the deafening sound of such organized chaos.
And then there was silence, I gazed upwards,
Only to be blinded by the garish light of her illuminated
graceful figure, it emanated with such power from her.
It filled the universe with pure and piercing white light.
As my eyes began to get accustomed to the brightness
I saw her, so bizarre but yet so unmistakably beautiful.
So much presence that there where millenniums of light on her.
I was marveled and grateful at the sight presented before me.
An ethereal diamond liquid dress wrapped around her figure,
And descended to earth. Emeralds and jade deeply embedded
On her mystical flowing dress. With such meticulous detail
They pivoted on her form and grew every changing,
every flowing across her billowing folds.
The cloth moved as if breathing
Mystically into the wondrous night air.
Her eyes so profoundly green,
The might of every precious stone became opaque and
Foul to the garish luminescence that irradiated from her gaze.
Green full shimmering lips of earth’s compassion and love
Parted slowly to unveil a pearly ivory smile. Warmth
Intoxicated my spirit, and my head became ecstatic with
Such heart moving Purity.
Her hair, gasping ebbs of shimmering silver strands,
Glowed white and wrapped around her mighty poise.
A cascade of intricacy and complexity descended
Suavely through the entire presence of her essence.
It glided downwards on such folds and coats,
With emeralds born on single strands, until a
Single hair slightly touched the surface floor.
Swaying, she turned to me, and with a deep
Mystical voice that was recognized
By the insides of my inner most self.
It resonated on my unconscious
The voice sounded on my skin, on my lips,
It spoke from everywhere.
A melody which is
Hidden but never lost.
As myself, as part of me,
As me.
“It is me… simply me…
I am Gaia”

Its always even more magical to see someone like you,
who finds their truth self and realizes that there is more.
And yes it is my favorite part too,
because well... I was very sad when I realized this,

This a long, nicely crafted poem. I enjoyed it and went back to read parts of it. I can see how much work you put into the poem. My favorite lines were at the beginning:
To understand instead of understood,
To understand to not be understood,
To understand for not being understood.
Great job.

I'm so glad you liked them! They actually came to me like three days ago, I was sitting on my terrace watching the city lights and looking up to the stars, and I realized something... that... and I gave up-.
