Usurper of river flowing,
it is my blood; veins
containing myself
and more than a touch of you
when it rains,
water fills creek and crevasse,
reaching divides of cheek and shale;
rubs smooth the roughened features,
the weathered lines
of life
may this wash be unending,
so new and fresh,
to mix mud with the blessings of
only sand
each grain I sift in fingers,
feeling the texture of you
you, who parts mountains,
such cleave from your tongue
and not just a kiss
for that finds momentary pleasure.
It is the words found
in the palms of sky
and gentle tones from
the mouth of the sun
unceasing
you give me space
where pinfeathers become wings
Author notes
2. But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

Daaaang.
Would you tell me exactly what you mean by the line
"reaching the divides of cheek and shale"
I have had both brits and scots give me their take on cheek; seems a new one here...

I love the way in which you put love in motion not just giving the reader a freeze frame snapshot of the moment. Excellent work my friend. Good luck in the contest.
Sincerely,
