Days caught on the wing
Thoughts that fly away again
It's a journey undertaken
And if I'm not mistaken
May never end
Now a man can have his dreams
Living for the moment
If that's his thing
Making alleluia's out of pearls of wisdom
And visions out of wishes
That are made and lost
But then there are days that fly
And moments caught on the hop
It's a trial without a jury
And it's rigged
Right from the very top
Now a woman can make her plans
In a world of tears and pain
It's the sun after the rain
That keeps her going
Even when the odds are stacked
Against her once again
And still there are days that fly
Lost opportunities and some we mourn
It's the way that we approach them
And the songs we sing to praise them
In our refrain
A man can be a father's son
Yet still miss those treasured moments
As his reward
Wear his martyrdom like Jesus
If that is of his accord
Still the days will fly
As we race closer to the day we die
It's the way that we all live them
That decides just how forgiving
We all can be
Now the lord only knows
How the end will truly be
As we scurry for some deliverance
In a world filled with little courage
And sympathy
We wait as the days fly away
Faster and faster while we pray
There is no consolation
As we look for resolutions
Every single day...

Very focused on the mortality of men.
I especially felt drawn to the stanza
that highlights the strength of women.
Wonderful response to the prompt given.
