The sky was a terrible overcast
that grew
with alternating splotches of clouds
that had some muted cobalt in them
but nevertheless
it caused
a noticeable
and rather obvious
droll over the land and the roads.
This meant one thing:
I would not get to see the Moon or stars tonight.
I loved awaking to a cloudless sky,
knowing that beyond the blue abyss
lay billions of stars,
waiting to be seen.
And of course the Moon
I really like her.
How do we know she is female?
Luna is another name for it.
For her.
Moon rays
From the heavens,
Rain down upon our earth.
It hangs outside my window as I sleep,
Looking down upon me
Like the tenacity of motherhood
She watches over her child.
Sticking to tree branches,
Like cobwebs on a child’s hair.
Through the night they shower down,
Against the grass with silver dignity,
They glitter like the stars in they sky
Where they come from.
I stare at it,
As if waiting for something.
Nothing happens.
I have nothing.
Moon rays until sunrise comes.
Aim for the moon
Because even if you miss
You’ll still be among the stars
I don’t need the moon
I don’t need the stars
Who needs them
When I have you?
