Along the California coast in Santa Carla's land
two Arizona teenagers and their mom hope to find paradise.
Living with Grandpa Emerson
among his world of taxidermy oddities, but no television,
a place that Michael and Sam quickly discover
is home to blood sucking teens,
who dine at night in gruesome feast,
dead ending up posters on missing person posters.
Oh how the tale unfolds,
in its center, mild mannered, Max, local video store owner,
smiling, soft face, with thick glasses,
affable nature that Sam feels is such con,
yet he acts so gentle and friendly,
not a chance he was part of fiendish gang of fangs.
Michael ignoring the fact because
vixen Star had lured him into David's vampire den,
waking to find he is now among those with taste for heart juices.
Sam finds alliance with new pals, the Frog Brothers,
they set a trap for Max at dinner with mother, Lucky,
but he passes test and they search elsewhere for the head vampire.
Then comes the final clash in the Emerson's home,
with Sam and Frog brother battle intruders
all slain in creative ways before clash between Michael and David.
Victory eluding when Max arrives finally revealing his true idenity,
in the end Grandpa saves the day, crashing through the wall
his jeep throwing wooden pointed log through Max's chest.
By subtle flair and curl of lips this flick says a simple morale,
sometimes youth may have its passions and energy,
however, age and wisdom with calm confidence
can still leave its mark upon time.
(Also leaving haunting doubts about guy behind video store counter.)
