Ladies and gentlemen,
poets elite
are you ready to slam
do you dare to compete?
Yes I slammed in the last one,
I have stepped up before
and I parried with poets
in two thousand and four.
All my skills were just hatching
my young quill was still green,
but I've blossomed and fledged
and my eyes have grown keen
to the campaigns just over the edge.
Now I'm up to the challenge
so bring on your verse,
the last time I was third,
but this time I'll be first
'cause I'm in it to win it;
the title, the purse!
